Dahlia Varieties We Grow on Our Farm
January 15, 2026
Photographing dahlias in a flat lay has been on my to-do list for five years, and amidst the craziness of flower farming, I finally found time this past fall to do it! Itβs not fancy photography (literally an iPhone photo) but it gets the job done of comparing colors, shapes and sizes of the dahlias on our farm.
In 2025, we grew 80 varieties of dahlias! Every year, I introduce new varieties and get rid of older varieties that either donβt perform well or no longer excite me. Iβve found if Iβm only partially excited about growing something, I will not be excited to take care of it nor harvest it in the field β and it becomes a total waste of space. Culling dahlia varieties sounds ruthless, but there are so many to choose from that really what it does is give me freedom to keep adding to the collection!
